“Deer in Headlights” is a mixed media piece regarding the current Covid-19 pandemic of 2020-2021. As a society we were blinded by Covid in 2020 and it’s uncertainty. Humanity is portrayed as the deer with its future to be unknown. The car represents the year 2021 and what the future will bring for all mankind. “EY’ 2021” reads the license plate. Do the headlights of 2021 lead the deer to safety or not? That is up to the viewer. We are the deer in headlights with unknown futures.

Auto Graveyard Series
2020 | Dry-Point Etching | Limited Edition Series
This series is a documentation of time and the aging of old automobiles. The classic cars are in Point Blank Texas near Lake Livingston. All the vehicles are a visual attraction for the Hilltop, a honky-tonk icehouse in the area. None of the autos run, tires are flat and buried by the ground due to them sitting in their final resting spot for years outside the bar. Even though they are all rusted, broken and buried, each vehicle still has its original beauty and I wanted to show that in this series.

Camaro Made Collection
2020 | Linocut Limited Edition Series | Mixed Media Collages
“Camaro Made Collage” is a mixed media artwork that is a finale to my lino-cut print series “Camaro Made”. I wanted to elevate this print series by using the rest of my not-so-perfect prints from this series to create a mixed media piece. This collage has an interesting backstory concerning its creation. The inspiration behind the classic Camaro prints was a pop-up quarantine classic car parade thru the neighborhood. As a photographer I was drawn to document all of the classic vehicles parading thru and the unity of the neighborhood getting together socially distanced in an uncertain time. While in quarantine, I also discovered how to use my car as a printing press and print lino-cuts. I thought it was fitting to print a classic Camaro I saw in the parade, with my Camaro, hence the name “Camaro Made”. Each of the original lino-cut prints are a carved six-color layer print. I also printed several outlines and experimented with color on them by blowing bubbles mixed with food coloring on prints for a transparent color. I used a total of seven prints cut up and pieced back together like a puzzle with the wrong pieces. I wanted a sense of motion with this work, so with paper placement and planning I was able to execute a Camaro raceway on my painted and gold leafed panel.

Innocence In Wake of Disaster
Innocence in Wake of Disaster is a series of painting created in 2020. It is a reflection of innocence and youth from Sarah's Childhood during a tragic flood event. As youthful children see the flood waters as a fun new play area, they are innocent to imagine how devastating the tragic flood at hand really is.
